at the beginning of summer (end of May, begining of June) my friend Kirk and i are going to travel around the world for three months. and i was needing to know what i need to do to get preapred for him and i.
If anyone has been backpacking, please let me know what i need to do. and what are the best places to go?
i’m from Texas and we are going to go all over the U.S.
we aren’t going to stay in hotels (unless need be…)
things we want to get out of the trip:
we want to see different cultures and the way they live.

you need enough money to get you food and all that for the 3 months. but no so much that it will get stolen. so intead of cash travelers checks are really good. also dont take anything valuable if you stay in hostels, cause the other people their might steal it.

    have fun on your trip!

Bring lots of toilet paper and water. Lots of zip-loc bags.

Depending on where you are from and where you might be going, you may need to prepare to experience extreme poverty, incredible kindness. You will need visas, innoculations, guide books, but also need to do some planning. No on can tell you the best places to stay, it depends on what you want to see and what you want to get out of your trip. have fun

As far as money, I have found that VISA ATM cards seem to work just about every city I have visited at either the machines, or take cash advance at the bank (and since it is a debt card, it processed as a cash transaction).
My rule is Never cary more cash cash than a one month’s salary for an average person in the country you are in.
    hope this helps.
