What is a good backpack to use backpacking?

Jaq asked:

I am going backpacking across Japan for 30 days. I really need a quality pack that will be comfortable as well as light and have a decent amount of space. I am going to be packing light but a good amount of space is needed. Thank you.

my idea of backpacking is to carry shelter, sleeping bag, stove, food , clothes etc.
Not sure you are talking about the same thing
For beginning backpackers, I always recommend a Kelty external frame - they tend to be adjustable, suit beginners’ gear better, and offer a lot for the price
I’m carrying a Jansport internal frame on most trips now but I got a great deal on it
the pack on my wish list is an Osprey Aether 85
