What should I bring on my backpacking trip to Europe?

Jes asked:

I’m planning a backpacking trip to Europe this summer, by myself. I plan on staying in hostels, but don’t know too much about them. Any advice you have would be very helpful. Places to stay, countries to visit? Any thing helps!

Now here is something i can answer like a pro. i have been all over hostels all over Europe several times, plus I worked in an American hostel. here you go, Pack plain basics. You won’t look flashy but you can be comfortable. Pack things that are versatile. Like if you wear pants where pants that will look good at night and day events if you are out all day you won’t want to be inappropriately dressed and go all the way back to the hostel to change. If you are a girl: sneakers, and ballet flats for fomal look. Bring two light sweaters and one wind breaker like jacket, You can always layer but lugging a large coat is annoying! Bring a lock and laundry bag and a towel, a blow up pillow for plane rides and train rides, shower flip flops if you can. Most hostels, will charge you for towles and locks and you will need them at some point. Hostels can be a great way to meet people, bring a book to put email addresses in. And of course, be ready to have fun!!!

make sure u ALWAYS have spare change (most places it cost to use the bathroom) But they are usually keeped clean because you pay.

I would recommend going to garmisch germany if you like the mountains.
If you like castles, try to make it to the Neuschwanstein castle (the big castle in Disney is modeled after it) I could tell you a bunch of places to go (i lived in Europe for 7yrs)
I dont know many hostels to stay in so i cant really help their.

Message me if you want to know more.
